In 1980, Brian Clarke created a series of technology-derived screenprints for Olympus Optical. Clarke’s screenprint Time Lag Zero, commissioned to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Olympus United Kingdom branch, is based on the light-metering computergrams from the Olympus OM System cameras. This imagery is derived from Clarke’s paintings and stained glass, produced for the Olympus Building in Hamburg.

After Densitometry was produced in an edition of 300 to mark the opening of Olympus Optical's Headquarters in Hamburg.

Printed with the screenprinter Chris Prater at Kelpra Studios, these works hold an important position in Clarke’s career, as the ‘computergram’ motif formed a continued inspiration. Clarke translated these symbols into stained glass, in the ‘Gridline’ screens of 1990, and the Blue Computergram screen in 2017.
